2026/27 Biodiversity on Rural Land Grant

Before completing this Expression of Interest form, you should have read the Biodiversity on Rural Land Grants Program guidelines, which are also available on the Latrobe City Council website.

This section of the form is designed to help you, and us, understand if you are eligible for this grant. 

Program Objectives

Funds will be directed towards initiatives that: 

• Achieve a direct and long-term environmental benefit
• Improve biodiversity through increasing the extent and quality of native vegetation*¹
• Create or extend wildlife corridors
• Contribute to improved understanding of the need for biodiversity on non-government land
• Build community capacity and foster greater understanding of environmental issues.

^*1 Native vegetation is vegetation comprised of locally native species indigenous to the area and subject to the application and project/initiative.

Round Timeline

• Expression of Interest (EOI) Close: Friday 21 August 4:00pm
• Eligibility checks completed and feedback delivered between: Monday 24 - Friday 27th August 2026 
• Applications open to eligible applicants: Monday 31 August 
• Application close: Friday 11 September 2026
• Outcome Notification delivered by: Monday 5 – Friday 9 October 2026

The following documents must be provided with this Expression of Interest form: 

• A legible map showing the location of the project within the property boundaries and containing a north arrow. Hand drawn maps are acceptable as long as they are legible.

You will also be given the opportunity to upload any additional documents you would like included with your expression of interest.  

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply applicants must: 

• Be individuals delivering a project on private rural land with a property size of greater than 0.4 Hectares (Ha)
• Be free of debt to Latrobe City Council
• Have no open acquittals from previous Biodiversity on Rural Land Grant funding
• Reside within Latrobe City
